New and Returning Staff Orientation

All new and returning staff for both locations (Baxley and Mt. Airy)  are required to participate in training. Please contact Rachel Laubrich if you have any questions about attending the week of training. rlaubrick@gbchfm.org  or 678-877-7139.


Mt. Airy Dates 2024

Week 1   -   June 5-9

Week 2   -  June 12-16

Week 3  -   June 19-23

Week 4  -   June 26-30

Baxley Dates 2024

Please note that a background check is conducted for all Camp Hawkins staff prior to working with campers. If this is not something you wish to have done, please do not proceed.

If you have been confirmed to work at Camp Hawkins in 2023, please bring both your Social Security card and your Driver's License with you to orientation in order to complete camp intent letters and tax forms. (This paperwork will be completed during Orientation. 


If you do not bring these documents, you will not be able to complete these forms and will not be able to serve at Camp Hawkins.

FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions. 

  • Can I work more than 1 session?

    YES! And you'll be glad you did!

  • What if I can only work part of a session?

    Sorry, we need you there the whole time.


    But whatever your other plans are, Camp Hawkins is definitely better, so you may want to cancel whatever you have scheduled already. #FOMO

  • I'm a returning counselor! Do I still have to do all this stuff?

    First off, welcome back!


    We need you to complete and submit all the forms in Stage 2, even if you're a returning counselor.


    But on the plus side, returning counselors do not have to do the application again in Stage 3! *high five*

  • When can I expect to hear back about my application?

    Chill bro, you just sent it in! We'll get back to you as soon as possible :)

  • Do I get paid to be a Camp Hawkins counselor?

    Yes, you'll get paid a daily rate. But you have to do all the paperwork first and do it correctly.
